The Banksia Spinulosa changes height based on the other plants surrounding it. It ranges between a height of one metre to three metres. The Banksia Spinulosa also has spikes on the side of it for protection from insects, but it has an opening at the top for the absorption of sunlight

Environment
Soil pH: 4.5 to 6.5 Grows well in a light to moderately heavy soil but need moisture and good draining. Grows in open forests and woodlands in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. Low levels of phosphorus is important.
