Adaptation Definition And Importance
An adaptation is the adjustment of an organism to its environment that improves its ability (fitness) to survive in that environment
It is important for an organism to be able to adapt to their environment as it increases the chances of surviving and reproducing. These organisms will pass on their traits to their off springs, facilitating the survival of the species. The adaptations that a species has can help it to survive in an easier manner, for example an animal can make a fat storage in their body for when they are unable to find food or they can have a longer beak to make it easier for them to be able to get food on the inside of a flower.
